Sukanya Srinivasan MD MPH

Sukanya Srinivasan completed family medicine residency training, fellowship in academic family medicine and Master’s degree in Public Health in Pittsburgh, PA.  Dr. Srinivasan currently serves as core residency faculty and Director of Research and Scholarly Activity at UPMC McKeesport Family Medicine Residency while maintaining a full spectrum family medicine practice.

 

She is an active site champion of the IMPLICIT (Interventions to Minimize Preterm and Low birth weight Infants through Continuous Improvement Techniques) Network, a family medicine learning collaborative of the Family Medicine Education Consortium.  Active with the Network since 2005, Dr. Srinivasan has developed strategies to impact a high-risk population through quality improvement studies, scholarly projects with student/resident mentorship and participation in several peer-reviewed journal articles that have been published with population data.  One of these papers, which Dr. Srinivasan was the lead author of, received the distinction of being chosen as the Research Paper of the Year in 2018 by the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM).

 

The IMPLICIT CC model has been developed in a nationally available toolkit in collaboration with the March of Dimes and several peer-reviewed journal articles have been published with this data.  Dr. Srinivasan enjoys living in Pittsburgh with her husband and two children.   Her interests outside of medicine include culinary arts, gardening and Broadway musicals.
