Daniel Salahuddin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and is also working as a Psychiatrist at Sto-Rox Family Health Center. He has been living in Pittsburgh over the last several years, and completed residency training in both Family Medicine & Psychiatry at UPMC McKeesport and UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital. He grew up in Bradenton, FL, completed his undergraduate studies at Saint Leo University, and attended medical school at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He has been engaged in numerous community engagement initiatives in the area including ‘Ask a Black Doctor’ through 1Hood Media and the Gateway Medical Society and ‘Sundays at 7’ with Healthy Village Learning Institute. He is currently the Associate Program Director of the Family Medicine & Psychiatry Residency Program, and has recently helped start a ‘Combined Clinic’ at UPMC Matilda H. Theiss Health Center. He is also involved in various initiatives in the community aimed at creating partnerships to help address gun violence and traumatic stress. In his free time he enjoys staying active, being outdoors, eating, cooking/baking, traveling, being with friends and family, and staying politically engaged.
